Susan Bock

Despite growing up in the church, it wasn’t until college that Susan came to know the Lord. She got her BA in Elementary Education with minors in theater and coaching and moved to the Des Moines area. It was during this time while she was teaching and playing softball that she met her husband, Gary. They were married on April 19, 1997. In January of 1998 the couple welcomed their first child and Susan resigned her teaching position in order to stay at home.
Eventually, Susan and Gary were blessed with three more children, all girls, and Susan dove into homeschooling. Because of her passion for teaching others the Good News of Jesus Christ and her interest in theater she was quick to jump at the opportunity to begin acting in and directing dramas at Timberline. She loves the unique expression of the Gospel that comes from watching a story come to life and unfold on the stage. In addition to acting, directing, and a bit of writing Susan can often be found serving in Timberline’s coffee shop, Missio Dei, on Sunday mornings.
Susan enjoys spending time with her husband, Gary, and their girls, watching and playing sports and water sports of all kinds, going to the theater, and generally spending time with God in His creation! Susan and her family live in Urbandale.
